By scraping the subtitle file for text from a digital copy of the film Vanilla Sky, I was able to gather every meaningful quote from the movie and code a twitter bot that would tweet a randomized quote every 6 hours. It was eventually shut down by Elon Musk upon his purchase of Twitter as bots became a paid feature. On September 22nd, the main characters fictional birthday, I released a T-shirt referencing his celebration of life card featured briefly in the film. Using the few seconds of visible time in the film I could get of it, I recreated the card and image by hand and had it screenprinted onto 50 American Apparel shirts. I created a splash page and sold these through a website on September 22nd, 2022.
