Creative Direction, album cover, physical product CD and full album visualizers created for the band Pure Love Gang in 2018. Concepted around 1980’s Power Pop and Glam Rock as well as a bubbly, anime style romantic prose and aesthetic, the creative direction for this album led me into multiple directions. One of the major ones was Japanese computer games from the 1980’s on the PC-88. These games were played through 5.25” floppy disks and involved very basic computer friendly color palletes. Many of them were romance based or investigative. Using samples from these I created a physical CD out of 50 real dead floppy disks with custom labels. Using directly recorded video of some of the games I also animated 10 visualizers, one for each track of the album. Along with some single art and other various promotional material including a VHS video commercial and a 3D model of the CD, this entire project is to me “Pure Love Gang: The Visual Novel”
